Call Settings
The technical call settings determine how your assistant behaves at the call level — independent of the prompt.
Maximum call duration
Defines the maximum length a call can run before it is automatically ended.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Default | 1800 seconds (30 minutes) |
| Minimum | 60 seconds (1 minute) |
| Maximum | 3600 seconds (60 minutes) |
💡
For voicemail we recommend 300 seconds (5 min); for support assistants 900-1800 seconds (15-30 min).
Silence timeout
When the caller says nothing for a certain amount of time, the assistant can ask a follow-up question or end the call.
- Short (5-10 seconds) — Good for quick interactions
- Medium (15-20 seconds) — Default, gives callers time to think
- Long (30+ seconds) — When callers often pause (e.g., looking up documents)
Interruption sensitivity
Determines how easily the caller can interrupt the assistant.
| Level | Description | Recommended for |
|---|---|---|
| Low | The assistant is hard to interrupt | Long explanations, announcements |
| Medium | Natural conversation behavior | General conversations (default) |
| High | The assistant stops immediately when someone speaks | Quick interactions, menu navigation |
A high interruption sensitivity can lead to false triggers in noisy environments, since background noise may be interpreted as an interruption.
