Audio Settings
The audio settings affect how your assistant speaks and how creative its responses are.
Speech rate
Controls how fast the assistant speaks.

| 0.8 | Slow — for older audiences or complex content |
| 1.0 | Normal (default) — natural speaking pace |
| 1.2 | Fast — for dynamic, short interactions |
| 1.5 | Very fast — only for special use cases |

For medical practices and law firms we recommend 0.9-1.0 (calm and clear). For customer service, 1.0-1.1 can work well.
Temperature
Temperature controls how "creative" or variable the assistant's responses are. The value lies between 0 and 1.

| 0.4-0.6 | Balanced (default: 0.5) | General conversations, reception |
| 0.7-1.0 | Creative, more variation | Consulting, sales, casual conversations |
When to use a low temperature?
- The assistant relays fixed information (hours, prices)
- Consistency is important (legal, medical contexts)
- The assistant follows a strict script
When to use a higher temperature?
- The assistant should sound natural and varied
- Sales or consulting conversations
- Creative, empathetic responses are desired

A temperature of 1.0 can lead to unpredictable responses. For business applications, we recommend a maximum of 0.7.
Configuration
- Open your assistant in the Nova editor
- Navigate to the Technical → Audio tab
- Adjust the speech rate and temperature
- Click Save
Changes to the audio settings take effect immediately for the next call.
