Quickstart: Your First AI Assistant

Follow this guide to set up your first Nova assistant in just a few minutes.

Choose a voice

Select the right personality for your assistant from 16 AI voices — across three quality tiers:

  • Natural voices — Warm sounding, universally usable
  • Expressive voices — Emotional, studio-grade quality
  • Enterprise voices — Fast, clear, ideal for high call volumes

The voice Kore is set as the default — warm, natural, and universally usable.

Configure the greeting

The greeting is the first sentence callers hear. It plays automatically as soon as the call connects.

Example:

"Hello, this is Dr. Müller's practice. How can I help you?"

Keep the greeting short (1-2 sentences), state the company name, and ask an open question.

Customize the prompt

The prompt defines your assistant's entire behavior: how it responds, what information it shares, and how it reacts to different situations.

You have two options:

  • Write it manually — Full control over every detail
  • Use the AI generator — Describe your business and the AI creates the prompt automatically

Set up a phone number

Your assistant needs a phone number to be reachable:

  • Buy a Nova number — Purchase a number directly in Nova
  • Connect your own number — Via SIP trunk (3CX, Starface, Fritzbox, Easybell, etc.)
  • Call forwarding — Forward your existing number to the Nova number

Set up post-processing (optional)

Define what should happen automatically after every call:

You're done!

Your AI assistant is now ready for use. Test it by calling the phone number you assigned.

Tip: Start with a simple setup (voice + prompt + number) and expand step by step with tools and post-processing.
