Use Existing Number

Want to use your existing business number with your AI assistant? There are two ways to do this:

Option 1: Call forwarding (recommended)

The simplest path: buy a Nova number and forward your existing business number to it. That way you stay reachable under your familiar number without having to reconfigure your phone system.

This works with any phone provider and is set up in just a few minutes.

Option 2: SIP trunk integration (for advanced users)

If you operate a SIP-capable phone system, you can connect your existing number directly to Nova via SIP trunk — without going through a Nova number. This option is intended for users with experience in SIP configuration.

We support all common SIP providers such as 3CX, Starface, Fritzbox, and Easybell. If you have questions about setup, contact us.

Requirements

  • A SIP-capable phone system or a SIP trunk provider
  • SIP credentials (server, username, password)
  • The number must be configured for inbound calls

Setting up a SIP number

Open Phone Numbers

Navigate to Phone NumbersAdd your own number.

Choose SIP

Select SIP phone number as the number type.

Enter credentials

Enter the SIP credentials:

Test the connection

Click Test connection. Nova checks whether SIP registration is successful.

Assign an assistant

Assign the number to an assistant.

When in doubt, we recommend call forwarding to a Nova number — it's simpler and requires no SIP configuration.
